Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has taken a fresh swipe at Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo after the governor mocked Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke during a campaign rally.

Although the singer did not include any caption with the post, social media users quickly linked it to the growing political exchanges surrounding the Osun governorship election scheduled for August 15.
The latest development comes just a day after Governor Okpebholo, while campaigning for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Osun State, Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, criticised Governor Adeleke over his well-known dancing.
Speaking at the APC campaign rally, which was attended by Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, Okpebholo questioned Adeleke’s leadership style, suggesting that his love for dancing had overshadowed governance.

“Before somebody signs paper, he will dance. Are you not tired? For four years, this man has been dancing. Before he takes breakfast, before he drinks tea, he will dance,” Okpebholo said.
The Edo governor also urged supporters to collect money from political opponents but still vote for the APC candidate in the upcoming election.

Davido has remained one of Governor Adeleke’s most vocal supporters throughout the election campaign. The singer has participated in campaign rallies across Osun State and recently appealed to residents and political stakeholders to ensure the election is peaceful, free and fair.
His latest social media post adds another chapter to the political exchanges involving entertainers and politicians ahead of the governorship poll, with supporters of both camps reacting strongly online.
Neither Governor Okpebholo nor his media team had publicly responded to Davido’s Instagram post as of the time of filing this report.
