The Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Area and Chairman of Conference 57 of Chairmen in Lagos State, Hon. Engr. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, has congratulated a prominent Yoruba son on his conferment as the Okanlomo of Yorubaland by the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Owoade.
Eko Hot Blog reports that in a congratulatory message issued on behalf of the people, traditional institutions, and the entire administration of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Olowa described the chieftaincy title as well deserved and symbolic of selfless service to the Yoruba race.
“This exalted title, meaning the one son dear to the hearts of all Yoruba people, is a fitting recognition of outstanding contributions to youth empowerment, community development, cultural preservation, and the unity of Yorubaland,” Olowa said.
He noted that the honour reflects the deep respect and admiration the recipient commands among the people, particularly the younger generation, whom he described as a beacon of hope and positive leadership.
“As a progressive and rapidly developing local government proudly rooted in Yoruba heritage, we celebrate this honour not only as a personal milestone but as an inspiration to all who strive for excellence and service to our great race,” he stated.
Hon. Olowa further prayed for divine wisdom, strength, and good health for the new Okanlomo, urging him to continue promoting Yoruba values, fostering unity, and contributing to the progress of Yorubaland and Nigeria at large.
