Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has been arraigned before the Federal High Court sitting in Ota, Ogun State, over multiple criminal allegations linked to a violent incident at his bar.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the singer was brought before the court on Monday on a nine-count charge bordering on assault, theft, causing bodily harm and resisting arrest, following an incident that allegedly occurred on New Year’s Day at his bar located in the Iyana Ilogbo area of the state.

According to the charge sheet, Portable allegedly attacked his estranged partner, Ashabi Simple, alongside several police officers who responded to the incident, including a female inspector identified as Ogungbe Olayemi.

Other individuals listed as victims in the case include Ileyemi Damilola, Akinyanju Oluwabusayomi, Olowu Olumide, Demilade Ogunniyi and Ebuka Odah, all of whom were said to have sustained injuries during the altercation.
The singer is also accused of stealing a Mercedes-Benz E300 valued at N12 million, reportedly belonging to one of the complainants, Ileyemi Damilola.
During the court proceedings, two siblings of Ashabi Simple testified as prosecution witnesses, although the estranged partner herself was absent from the hearing.

The presiding judge declined Portable’s bail application, citing the absence of a key prosecution witness, the allegedly assaulted police officer. The court consequently ordered that the singer be remanded in custody until January 19.
Meanwhile, the Ogun State Police Command has confirmed that it is investigating a viral video circulating online, which allegedly shows Portable being assaulted while in police custody, assuring the public that the matter will be thoroughly examined.
