Eko Hot Blog reports that Wike made the assertion on Friday in Port Harcourt during the inauguration of senatorial and local government coordinators of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors.

The event, according to a statement issued by his spokesman, Lere Olayinka, was organised to strengthen grassroots backing for the Tinubu administration as preparations for 2027 intensify.
The former Rivers State governor said the state has consistently set the pace in political mobilisation and would continue to show practical commitment to the president’s second-term bid.

“Other states may unveil their structures after now, but Rivers State has already taken the lead,” Wike said. “Support is not about making loud declarations; it is about action, and we have shown that.”
He added that preparations for the next general elections were already underway, disclosing that ward-level inauguration of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors would commence soon across the state.
Wike also raised concerns about the level of alignment by the Rivers State Government with Tinubu’s re-election ambition, stressing that political rewards are earned through loyalty and dedication, not financial strength.
“You cannot claim support when the governor is not aligned with what we are doing openly for President Tinubu. How then do you expect any reward?” he asked. “It is not about having ₦600 billion; commitment is what brings reward, even if it attracts envy.”

Describing the Renewed Hope Ambassadors as a “rainbow coalition,” Wike thanked President Tinubu for backing the group’s candidates in the February 21 by-elections for Khana State Constituency II and Ahoada West State Constituency II. He urged voters to turn out massively to support the candidates, irrespective of party affiliation.
Earlier, the Rivers State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Ambassador Desmond Akawor, praised supporters drawn from both the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) for their strong show of solidarity with the president.
Also speaking, Senator George Sekibo, representing federal political appointees from Rivers State, assured Tinubu of sustained support, commending the administration for what he described as unprecedented appointments and infrastructural projects in the state.
According to him, no previous administration had executed projects of such scale in Rivers State while simultaneously appointing indigenes into strategic national positions.

Similarly, the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Kingsley Chinda, who spoke on behalf of the National Assembly caucus, reaffirmed commitment to Tinubu’s re-election, expressing confidence that the support recorded in 2023 would be surpassed in 2027.
Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Martins Amaewhule, alongside former PDP state chairman, Felix Obuah, also pledged their backing for the president.
Meanwhile, the Rivers State chairmen of the PDP and APC, Aaron Chukwuemeka and Tony Okocha respectively, disclosed that their parties had commenced full mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
