Two senior justices of the Iranian Supreme Court were killed in a shooting at the tribunal building in central Tehran, according to statements from the judiciary and state media.
The attacker, armed with a handgun, opened fire early Saturday before taking his own life, the judiciary’s media centre reported.

The victims were identified as Hojjat al-Islam Razini and Hojjat al-Islam wal-Muslimeen Moqisseh, both prominent judges who handled cases related to national security, espionage, and terrorism.
Judiciary spokesman Asghar Jahangir told state television that the assailant entered the judges’ office and shot them.
A bodyguard was also injured during the incident. Investigators are working to identify and apprehend any potential accomplices, though the attacker’s motive remains unclear.

Razini, 71, survived an assassination attempt in 1998 while serving as Tehran’s judiciary head. Moqisseh, 68, had been sanctioned by the US in 2019 for his role in overseeing trials criticized as unjust.
