A 20-year-old woman, Jamila Ishiaku, has been arrested for causing severe burns to her pregnant sister-in-law by pouring boiling water on her in an attempt to induce labor.
Eko Hot Blog gathered that the incident, which occurred in Dubeli, a community in Yola North Local Government Area of Adamawa State, resulted from an argument that escalated beyond Ishiaku’s control.

The victim, who suffered significant burns, particularly on her back, is currently receiving treatment at a hospital.
Ishiaku admitted her actions were driven by uncontrolled anger and expressed remorse for the unintended consequences.

“I didn’t think it would go this far. I was just angry,” Jamila said in an interview. The Police Public Relations Offi – cer in Adamawa State, SP Suleiman Nguroje, said the suspect would face the consequences of her action.
Following the incident, the victim’s family, particularly her sister Nefisat Dahiru, has called for justice, urging the police to take decisive action against Jamila Ishiaku.
