President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended his condolences to the families, parents, and guardians of the 17 children who tragically lost their lives in a fire at an Islamic school in Kaura Namoda, Zamfara State.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that in a statement released on Wednesday, February 5, by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu expressed deep sorrow over the incident and called for enhanced safety measures in schools to prevent such tragedies.
The fire, which broke out at the Tsangaya (Almajiri) school on Tuesday night, was reportedly caused by stored sticks, locally known as ‘kara.’ The blaze quickly spread, claiming the lives of the young pupils and leaving several others injured.
President Tinubu also commiserated with the Zamfara State government and the school’s proprietors, praying for the swift recovery of those receiving medical treatment. He urged public and private schools nationwide to prioritize the safety and security of children.
Furthermore, Tinubu directed regulatory agencies in the education sector to enforce compliance with safety standards to prevent future occurrences.

The President prayed for the repose of the souls of the deceased and strength for their grieving families.
