General Christopher Musa, Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), asserted that the country will not accept any form of disrespect towards its citizens from foreign nations, Eko Hot Blog reports.
Speaking at the Defence Headquarters in Abuja, he addressed the recent visa denial incident involving senior military officers, including the head of the military, for the Invictus Games in Canada.

Contrary to reports, General Musa clarified that Nigeria had indeed been invited to the international event.
He also noted that the Federal Government is taking steps to address the issue, underscoring the need for respect on the global stage.
“On the issue of the visa denial, it must be tackled on all fronts, and I am happy the Federal Government is taking up the matter,” he said.

He explained that the Nigerian military followed all required procedures and that top government officials, including the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Defence, and the National Security Adviser (NSA), were fully aware of the invitation and preparations for the Invictus Games.
“We followed all the necessary processes, but for reasons best known to them, most of our team members were denied visas. The team captain, the medical doctor, and the physiotherapist were all denied entry. Why?”
