The much-anticipated 2025 Ramadan/Omo Adugbo football competition officially commenced today at Agbowa Baptist Primary School, with a vibrant kick-off ceremony attended by key stakeholders and football enthusiasts in Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA.

Ekohotblog reports that the event, hosted by Hon. Hassan Mustapha Owolabi, councillor representing ward E2 and council leader of Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA, was graced by the Agbowa football association committee under the leadership of Mr. Toheeb Olanrewaju (a.k.a Jority) and the senior special assistant on political matters to the executive chairman of Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA, Hon. Gbenga Ogundare.
Addressing the gathering, Hon. Owolabi emphasized the importance of grassroots sports development and community engagement through football.
“This competition is more than just a game; it’s about fostering unity, nurturing young talents, and creating opportunities for our youths. We are committed to supporting initiatives that promote sports and healthy competition,” he said.
Mr. Toheeb Olanrewaju, chairman of the Agbowa football association, also expressed his excitement about the competition’s impact on local football.
“This tournament has become a tradition in Agbowa, and it continues to showcase our local talents. We appreciate everyone who has made this year’s edition possible, and we look forward to an exciting and competitive season,” he stated.
