The Lagos State Council of Tradesmen and Artisans (LASCOTA), Epe Division, has praised Rep. Wale Raji for his continuous support of market traders, artisans, and small business owners through various empowerment programs.
Ekohotblog gathers that speaking at the conclusion of the five-day Entrepreneurship Training and Empowerment Program, organized in collaboration with the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) and Dorcella Company Limited, the President of LASCOTA, Epe Division, Mrs. Odutola Olushola, expressed gratitude for the lawmakers’ commitment to economic development.

“Hon. Wale Raji has always prioritized the growth of business owners, particularly women, ensuring that they receive the necessary skills and financial support to succeed.
His efforts are not just about providing funds but also about equipping us with the knowledge to sustain and grow our businesses,” she stated.
The training, held at the Epe Local Government Council Chambers from March 3 to March 7, 2025, saw 100 market men, women, and micro-business owners receive expert-led sessions on business management, financial planning, digital marketing, and entrepreneurship development.
To further strengthen their businesses, each participant received ₦100,000 in financial support, while also benefiting from a ₦5,000 daily transport allowance throughout the training.
Mrs. Odutola highlighted the longstanding partnership between LASCOTA and Rep. Wale Raji, noting that his administration has consistently introduced initiatives aimed at boosting local businesses and reducing poverty.
“This is not the first time Hon. Wale Raji has empowered our people. He has previously provided ₦2 million grants to cooperative groups, supported individual traders with financial assistance, and facilitated youth training in solar installation, catering, and other skills,” she explained.
She further emphasized the impact of the program on women in business, stating, “Many of our women have benefited greatly from his initiatives.
With this latest empowerment, more of them can expand their businesses, provide for their families, and contribute to the local economy.”
Many beneficiaries also expressed their appreciation, acknowledging how the training has improved their understanding of business growth, financial discipline, and the use of digital platforms.
One participant shared, “This training has changed my mindset about business. I now understand how to manage my finances better, and with the ₦100,000 grant, I can invest wisely.”
Another added, “The digital marketing aspect of the training opened my eyes to new ways of reaching customers beyond my immediate environment. I am grateful to Hon. Wale Raji for this opportunity.”

With LASCOTA reaffirming its support for Rep. Wale Raji’s initiatives, Mrs. Odutola assured that the association would continue to collaborate with him to ensure more artisans, market traders, and small business owners benefit from future empowerment programs.
