The 2025 Ramadan Lecture and Prayers, hosted by His Royal Majesty (HRM) Oba (Dr.) Olufolarin Olukayode Ogunsanwo (JP), Telade IV, The Alara of Ilara Kingdom, was held on March 15, 2025, at the royal palace in Ilara, Eredo, Epe Division, Lagos State.
Ekohotblog reports that the annual spiritual gathering brought together Islamic scholars, traditional rulers, government officials, religious leaders, and community members to reflect on the significance of Ramadan, foster unity, and seek divine blessings for Ilara Kingdom and Nigeria at large.

In his welcome address, HRM Oba Ogunsanwo expressed gratitude to all attendees, emphasizing the importance of Ramadan as a period of self-discipline, renewal, and charity. He reaffirmed his commitment to peace, unity, and development within Ilara and beyond.
“Ramadan is not just about fasting; it is a time for reflection, prayer, and extending kindness to others. As a people, we must continue to promote unity and work collectively for the progress of our kingdom and nation,” the Alara stated.
The keynote lecture was delivered by Sheikh Salami Safiriyu Sambo, a highly respected Islamic scholar, who spoke on the importance of faith, good deeds, unity, and social justice.
He urged attendees to embrace honesty, compassion, and generosity, stressing that these values are fundamental to societal progress.
“A nation thrives when its people uphold justice, kindness, and truthfulness. Let us use this Ramadan period to strengthen our faith and contribute to the well-being of our communities,” Sheikh Sambo urged.
