In a statement addressing the people of Rivers State, Fubara reflected on the challenges of his tenure, emphasizing that he had always prioritized the welfare of the people despite political obstacles.
“We will engage with all relevant institutions to ensure that our democracy remains strong and that Rivers State continues to thrive,” Fubara assured.

He attributed the political turmoil to members of the Rivers State House of Assembly loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, accusing them of hindering efforts to comply with the Supreme Court’s ruling.
“At every turn, members of the Rivers State House of Assembly frustrated our efforts, thus making genuine peace and progress difficult,” he said.
Despite the crisis, Fubara emphasized that governance had continued effectively, with salaries paid and major projects ongoing. He reassured the public that Rivers State remained “safe, secure, and peaceful under our watch.”
The governor urged the people to remain peaceful and law-abiding, promising to work with institutions to uphold democracy and ensure the state’s continued progress.
