Present at the palace were other respected monarchs, including the Oniladaba of Ladaba Kingdom, HRM Oba Nureni Sikiru Odedina (Alugbin I), and the Olota of Ota-Ikosi Kingdom, HRM Alayeluwa Oba Elias Omoloro Adedapo Ijelu, alongside chiefs from the Oloja-in-Council and representatives from Ladaba and Itoomu Kingdoms.
In their various remarks, party stalwarts appreciated the consistent support of Epe residents for the APC. Among them were APC Apex Leader in Epe Division and GAC member,
High Chief (Hon.) Abiodun Tobun; incumbent Chairman and re-election candidate, Hon. (Princess) Surah Olayemi Animashaun FHTI; PSOA Campaign Chairman, Alhaji Shakirudeen Akanni Seriki (Bamu); and Hon. Bode Alausa.
They all emphasized the need for voters to turn out en masse on election day and cast their ballots for all APC candidates.
“We are grateful for your unwavering support over the years,” said High Chief Abiodun Tobun. “We have seen significant development under Princess Surah’s leadership, and we are confident that more is coming.”
HRM Oba Kamorudeen Animashaun, in his remarks, thanked the party leadership for backing his daughter and supporting her second-term bid.
“You have performed very well in your first term, and that is why we are all here today to support your aspiration for a second term,” he said.
He cautioned against complacency and urged elected officials to remain accountable.
“In your second term in office, try and build on your previous achievements. It is a time to consolidate on your first term’s accomplishments, not a time to fold your hands, believing that you have no more opportunity to serve and therefore engage in corruption.
You must complement the frantic effort being made by our President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, at the Federal level and give his political party, APC, a good image among the Nigerian populace.”
Supporting the monarch’s message, HRM Oba Nureni Odedina of Ladaba and HRM Oba Elias Omoloro Adedapo Ijelu of Otta-Ikosi both offered their royal blessings and encouragement to the APC candidates.
At a recent state parley organized by the Lagos State Government, Oba Elias Ijelu had commended the performance of local government leaders in Epe and urged the Chairman and councillors to sustain their good works, echoing similar praise from Oba Ladaba.
The campaign continued at the APC Secretariat in Paramount, Epe, where the candidates were officially introduced to party members and presented with symbolic brooms by Hon. Abiodun Tobun.
The final stop was at the Epe Local Government Secretariat, where former Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adeyemi Ikuforiji, and Alhaji Bamu handed over party flags to the candidates.
