Presenting the communiqué issued by the group, Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, who serves as the chairman, said the forum reaffirmed its commitment to the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
“We have critically appraised the socio-economic and political situation of the country and reaffirmed our commitment to President Tinubu’s bold reforms aimed at repositioning Nigeria for inclusive prosperity,” Mr Uzodimma said.
The forum also welcomed Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom, who recently joined its ranks.
It described his defection as a sign of the growing national consensus around the transformative policies of President Tinubu’s administration.
The governors praised President Tinubu for recent macroeconomic reforms, such as the removal of fuel subsidies, the unification of the exchange rate, and the streamlining of national debt.
According to the forum, these policies are essential steps toward achieving long-term national recovery.
“While we acknowledge early signs of recovery, we believe economic growth must be democratised.
“We are shifting focus towards social equity by expanding investments in job creation, MSMEs, food security, and social safety nets,” the governors said.
The forum emphasized the crucial role of state governments in advancing economic development, referencing Section 13 of the 1999 Constitution, which mandates all levels of government to prioritize the welfare of citizens.

“We are committed to deepening economic decentralisation and building on fiscal transfers from the federal government,” the bloc said.
The forum stated that several APC-led states are now attracting substantial domestic and foreign direct investments.
The governors credited this progress to enhanced procurement processes, the adoption of digital governance, and the implementation of regulatory frameworks that support investors.
On the issue of security, the governors commended the armed forces and the police for their efforts in reducing crime across the country.
They also called for increased investment in surveillance technology and better welfare for frontline personnel, while expressing support for ongoing initiatives to improve grassroots intelligence and strengthen community policing.
“Security is a shared responsibility. We will continue to support inter-agency collaborations and local partnerships to restore peace, especially in conflict-prone regions like Benue and Niger,” the forum said.
In a significant political development, the Progressive Governors described the resignation of APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje as a reflection of the party’s dedication to internal democracy and ongoing institutional reform.
The governors also highlighted the importance of strengthening local governments, viewing them as vital drivers of service delivery and democratic participation.
“We believe in bottom-up transformation, which starts from the wards and LGAs and moves to the national,” they asserted.
The forum observed a one-minute silence in honour of the late elder statesman Aminu Dantata of Kano State, who passed away during the meeting.
The governors also called on Nigerians, both at home and abroad, to support the administration led by President Tinubu.
“Together, we can build a more secure, united, and prosperous nation,” they said.
In his remarks, Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State stated that the group’s presence in the state reflected the party’s expanding national appeal.
“This is a moment of renewed momentum for Nigeria. Under President Tinubu, we are not just reforming policies; we are restoring confidence,” he said.
