- Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has described the June 20 Ekiti governorship election as a critical test that will gauge the ruling party’s strength before the 2027 general elections.
- As National Chairman of the Campaign Council, Sani argued that Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s track record in infrastructure and education has made the upcoming vote a “formality.”
- The Governor emphasized that the outcome will directly reflect public approval of the current federal administration’s policies and national leadership.
Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has stated that the upcoming Ekiti State governorship election will serve as a vital political indicator for the All Progressives Congress (APC) as it prepares for the 2027 general elections.
Eko Hot Blog reports that speaking on Sunday upon his arrival for the official flag-off of Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s re-election campaign, Sani noted that the poll is more than a local contest; it is a measure of the party’s national acceptability.

Governor Sani, who was received by Deputy Governor Monisade Afuye and other top officials, praised the “people-oriented” policies of the Oyebanji administration.
He highlighted achievements in human capital development, youth empowerment, and socio-economic infrastructure as key factors that have solidified the party’s position in the state.
According to Sani, these visible results ensure that the people of Ekiti will vote for continuity on June 20.

“The outcome of the Ekiti State governorship election will reflect the strength and acceptability of the ruling party’s leadership,” Sani remarked at the Ado-Ekiti Airport.
He stressed that Governor Oyebanji’s inclusive style of governance has translated into widespread support, making the election an opportunity to demonstrate the APC’s enduring grip on the region.
The visit, which included meetings with Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele and the state’s National Assembly caucus, underscores the importance the party is placing on this particular poll.
With 13 political parties vying for the governorship, the APC is using Ekiti as a testing ground for its 2027 mobilization strategies, viewing a decisive victory here as an essential precursor to the next national election cycle.
