At least 15 people have reportedly been killed by bandits believed to be members of the Lakurawa group in Kwallajiya village, located in Tangaza Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
Eko Hot Blog gathered that a resident of the village, who spoke to our correspondent on the condition of anonymity, said the attack occurred on Wednesday afternoon when the suspected armed group entered the community and launched the assault.

He added that the victims were laid to rest on Wednesday evening in accordance with Islamic burial rites.
“We are deeply concerned about the continued acts of violence and the suffering communities are experiencing at the hands of bandits in various parts of this state.
“We strongly believe that such atrocities are often aided by information the bandits receive from some residents of the villages.

“It is, therefore, imperative that the public also intensify efforts to cooperate with security agencies,” the source said.
Meanwhile, efforts to reach the Special Adviser to the Governor on Security Matters, Col Ahmed Usman (retd), and the spokesperson for the state police command, DSP Ahmed Rufai, were unsuccessful at the time of filing this report.
