In a significant stride towards improving rural infrastructure, Hon. Sylvester Ogunkelu, the lawmaker representing Epe Constituency II at the Lagos State House of Assembly, has completed the rehabilitation of six out of nine key road projects across Eredo Local Council Development Area (LCDA).

Scrabble enthusiasts and champions from across Africa have gathered in Lagos for the 5th edition of the Emmanuel Egbele Annual Scrabble Tournament (EEAST), which kicked off this weekend at the prestigious Eko Hotel.

The Lagos State University (LASU) Governing Council has approved the dismissal of two academic staff members over allegations of serious misconduct involving inhumane treatment of students, sexual harassment, and financial impropriety.
Ekohotblog reports that the decision was reached at the Council’s 143rd Statutory Meeting held on Thursday, July 3, 2025, after deliberating on the report submitted by the Joint Council-Senate Disciplinary Committee.
Those affected are Prof. Olatunji Tajudeen Fasasi Abanikannda, Dean of the School of Agriculture, Epe Campus, and Dr. Khadeejah Olufunke Kareem-Ibraheem, Lecturer I and Coordinator, Department of Animal Sciences, same campus.
Prof. Abanikannda was found guilty of several violations, including subjecting 400-level students to harsh farm conditions from 6:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. without food or water, even during torrential rainfall.
He was also indicted for sexual harassment of female students, using derogatory and profane language toward staff and students, and unauthorized collection of money.
