Self-styled relationship therapist, Blessing Okoro, popularly known as Blessing CEO, has shared her thoughts on why many men feel threatened when their wives become more successful.
Speaking in a recent interview, Blessing stated that men are not intimidated by female success itself, but rather by the shift in behaviour that often accompanies it.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that according to her, women tend to unconsciously adopt masculine traits like dominance and control once they become financially independent or begin to out-earn their husbands.
“No man is intimidated by your success,” she said. “They are only afraid of the masculinity that comes with success. Once you can provide, you automatically become a man.”
She explained that society typically sees provision as a man’s primary role, and when women start to fulfil this role, the balance of power in the home shifts — sometimes triggering conflict.
Blessing noted that in such cases, many women begin to challenge their husbands or compare earnings, often without realising the strain it places on the relationship.
“The problem is not that you are earning more. It’s how you carry it,” she explained. “Once you start to say things like ‘my salary is bigger,’ the man starts to feel emasculated.”
She warned that this could lead men to cheat or walk away in search of a “softer” woman who respects their role.
The mother of two advised high-earning women to remain emotionally soft, supportive, and nurturing despite their financial status. She emphasised the importance of maintaining a balance between power and femininity in marriages.

Her comments have stirred reactions online, with many viewers debating the balance between empowerment and traditional gender roles in relationships.
