He was alleged to be a drug user struggling with mental health issues.
According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred around 8:05 p.m. Neighbours described Eniola as a troubled youth who, in a frenzied state, stormed the home of Ganiyu Bamidele and went straight to a shop run by the children’s mother, where the children were asleep.
Without any warning, he launched a vicious machete attack on the minors, killing them in a shocking and violent manner.
The children’s father, Bamidele, said the attack happened so quickly that he was unable to intervene.
The broken man recounted that the suspect didn’t speak to anyone. “He just came in and started cutting them with a machete. By the time we realised what was going on, my children were already gone,” he said.
The suspect was quickly surrounded by an angry crowd, who attacked him before police officers from the Oba Ile Division arrived at the scene. Although the officers tried to rescue him and rushed him to the hospital, he died from the injuries he sustained during the mob assault.

The bodies of the three children were reportedly taken to a morgue.
In response, the Public Relations Officer of the Osun State Police Command, Abiodun Ojelabi, confirmed the incident. He stated that the suspect died on the way to the hospital due to the severity of the beating. He also noted that a full investigation into the case has begun.
“This case is particularly heartbreaking. Preliminary reports suggest the attacker may have been under the influence of drugs. We are probing further to understand the full circumstances,” Ojelabi stated.
