Senator Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan arrived at the National Assembly on Tuesday, despite a warning from the Senate advising her to stay away from the premises.
Eko Hot Blog reports that there was an unusual increase in security at the gate of the complex, with stern security personnel inspecting vehicles and limiting visitor access to the car park outside the building.

At least five police patrol vehicles were positioned strategically at the entrance of the Assembly complex.

The senator, who was suspended in March, stated over the weekend that she had officially informed the Senate of her plan to return, referencing a recent court ruling as the basis for her decision.
Speaking to journalists during a constituency training event, she explained that she had already written to the leadership of the Upper Chamber about her intention.
She noted that although her suspension did not prevent her from carrying out constituency projects, it did hinder her ability to perform essential legislative duties such as sponsoring bills and presenting motions.
