According to Kaduna police spokesperson DSP Mansir Hassan, the arrest followed weeks of intelligence gathering and covert surveillance by detectives.
Yarima, a native of Bichi Local Government Area in Kano State, confessed to impersonating a wide range of high-level individuals for fraudulent purposes.
He allegedly posed as the Executive Governors of Kaduna, Nasarawa, and Ondo States, and also impersonated top agency heads, including the Chairman of the EFCC and FIRS.
In a shocking twist, he also claimed to be the Inspector-General of Police, the Force PRO, and even the wife of the late Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari.
The suspect further impersonated the wife of the Kogi State Governor and other political spouses, allegedly exploiting these identities to deceive high-ranking contacts.
A search of his residence reportedly yielded five mobile phones, 23 SIM cards, and numerous diaries containing contact lists of senior political and security figures.
Items recovered included phone numbers of Chiefs of Staff to governors across all 36 states, traditional rulers, military officers, and senior federal officials.
Police believe the suspect used this detailed contact network to orchestrate complex frauds by misrepresenting himself as these notable individuals.
The Kaduna State Commissioner of Police, CP Rabiu Muhammad, described the arrest as a breakthrough in the ongoing clampdown on impersonators and fraud syndicates.

He emphasised the command’s commitment to protecting the integrity of Nigerian institutions from criminal elements.
“The Kaduna State Police Command remains committed to ridding our society of fraudsters, impersonators and all sorts of criminals,” the statement concluded.
The suspect remains in custody under intense investigation and will be charged to court upon the conclusion of police inquiries.
Authorities have urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious individuals to law enforcement agencies.
