EKO HOT BLOG reports that in a statement released on Friday by the Chairman of the Forum of SDP State Chairmen, Femi Olaniyi Ferrari, El-Rufai was accused of orchestrating a “fake” National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held in Abuja. Ferrari said the meeting lacked the endorsement of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) and was not recognised by legitimate party organs.
He stated that El-Rufai, who has no official record as an SDP member beyond social media photos, was suspended by the party’s Kaduna chapter and, therefore, lacks authority to call any party meetings.
Ferrari alleged that some state chairmen were misled into attending the illegal meeting and called for a thorough investigation into those behind the gathering. He urged the NWC to show mercy to unsuspecting members who were deceived.
He reaffirmed the Forum’s loyalty to the legally constituted NWC led by acting National Chairman Dr. Sadiq Abubakar Umar. He also backed the leadership of Shehu Musa Gabam and Dr. Olu Agunloye, elected during the June 2022 National Convention.
Ferrari warned that no financial offers or bribes would sway the chairmen’s loyalty to the party, adding that complaints had already been submitted to INEC over forged signatures used to mislead the commission.

He called on the media and the public not to associate the Forum with what he described as a “disgraceful gathering of unknown individuals.”
