The Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government, Hon. (Princess) Surah Olayemi Animashaun, FHTI, was officially sworn in for a second term on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at a grand inauguration ceremony held at the Sport Pavilion Ground, Lagos House, Alausa, Ikeja.
Ekohotblog reports that the event, organized by the Lagos State Government, signaled the formal commencement of another four-year tenure following her landslide victory in the recently concluded local government elections conducted by the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC).

Hon. Animashaun’s re-election is widely seen as a vote of confidence by the people of Epe in her visionary leadership, which has been defined by community-focused projects, inclusive policies, and significant infrastructural developments during her first term.
In her post-inauguration address, the Executive Chairman expressed heartfelt gratitude to the people of Epe for their trust and reiterated her commitment to an even more dynamic and transparent administration.
“I am deeply honored and humbled by the trust reposed in me once again by the good people of Epe. This second term presents an opportunity to build on the solid foundation we have laid and to accelerate the pace of development across all sectors of the local government. I remain committed to the principles of accountability, equity, and progress.”
She also unveiled her administration’s Second Term Strategic Development Blueprint, outlining plans to strengthen institutions, promote inclusive governance, and implement sustainable development initiatives that directly address the needs of residents.
As part of her vision, Hon. Animashaun emphasized the need for continued unity, peace, and collaboration among all stakeholders.

“Governance is a collective responsibility. We must work together, transparently and in unity, to realize the full potential of Epe and deliver the kind of progress our people truly deserve.”
With the renewed mandate, her administration is set to deepen its impact across all communities and position Epe as a benchmark for excellence and responsive governance in Lagos State.
