A massive 8.8 magnitude earthquake has triggered a powerful tsunami, hitting several Pacific nations.
Eko Hot Blog gathered that the natural disaster has reportedly caused a widespread destruction prompting immediate evacuations.

The quake, which struck off Russia’s far eastern coast on Monday is christened the sixth strongest ever recorded in history.
The wave of the quake and Taunami has not left out the U.S shores. The impact has been felt in various US states, including Hawaii, California, Oregon, Washington, and Alaska.
According to the reports closely monitored by Eko Hot Blog, the waves have also affected Japan, where nearly 2 million people have been evacuated.
U.S Honolulu’s mayor has urged people to move to higher ground, while Hawaii’s Governor Josh Green has advised immediate evacuation of coastal zones.
“It will not hit one beach, it will wrap around the islands,” he said.
The impending disaster has become a major concern for the authorities in French Polynesia and have since issued a tsunami alert for the Marquesas Islands archipelago, warning of waves up to 2.2 meters (7.2 feet) that could reach the islands of Ua Huka, Nuku Hiva, and Hiva Oa.

In a related development, our correspondent reports that the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center has issued estimated arrival times for the tsunami waves in various US coastal areas.
Residents and tourists are advised to check the latest updates and follow evacuation instructions from local authorities.
Several local authorities have fished out procedures on managing the disaster calling on collective effort to ensure the preservation of life post the incident.

- – Move immediately to higher ground or designated evacuation areas
- Stay away from coastal areas and beaches
- Follow evacuation routes and instructions from local authorities
- Stay tuned to local news and emergency alerts for updates.
As at the filing of this reports, precautionary sites have been prepared by local authorities in each of the surrounding nations along the Pacific Coast.
