Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, representing Lagos East Senatorial District, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his steadfast dedication to youth development and empowerment in Nigeria.
Ekohotblog reports that during a visit to the newly commissioned All Progressives Congress (APC) National Youth Secretariat in Abuja on Wednesday, Senator Abiru praised the President’s vision, describing the world-class facility as a strong symbol of progressive leadership.
“This is nothing short of inspiring,” Senator Abiru remarked after touring the centre.
“It gives me hope that we have a generation which fully understands how the current world is evolving. You’ve created an environment where youth creativity will blossom, and a place they’ll be eager to visit.”
The Secretariat is equipped with modern features including a game room, snooker and table tennis facilities, multimedia/podcast studios, an event hall, boardroom, and a youth-friendly lounge. Senator Abiru described it as a model for meaningful youth engagement.
In a statement by his media aide, Enitan Olukotun, the Senator also commended the APC National Youth Leader, Dr. Dayo Israel, for his leadership and innovation in prioritizing youth inclusion in party politics.
Speaking during a panel session moderated by Dr. Israel, Senator Abiru reaffirmed his strong interest in innovation and technology.
He highlighted his initiative — the SAIL Innovation Lab in Ikorodu — which he established to equip youths with digital skills in high-demand fields.
“Young Nigerians, driven by purpose and vision, are building ideas that can truly shape the future of our nation,” Abiru said. “It’s a powerful reminder that Renewed Hope isn’t just a slogan, it’s already taking root.”
He noted that over 1,900 young people have been trained at the SAIL Innovation Lab in areas like Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, while more than 6,000 teachers have benefited from a Teachers’ Fellowship, powered by MTN Foundation in partnership with his office.
In response, Dr. Dayo Israel expressed his gratitude for the Senator’s support and commitment to youth development.
“The youth of our party are proud to have a leader like Senator Abiru, who walks the talk and continues to set an example of progressive leadership,” Dr. Israel said.
The visit underlined the importance of collaboration between the nation’s youth and leaders committed to building a brighter, tech-driven future for Nigeria.
