In Adamawa State, a lawsuit has been filed against Adamu Ibraheem Jimeta, an aide to former governorship candidate Senator Aishatu Ahmed. A group of executive members from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gombi Local Government Area initiated the legal action, accusing Jimeta of making a defamatory post on his Facebook page.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the complaint, filed at the Upper Area Court No. 1 in Yola, with suit number UACY/CR/68/2025, accuses Jimeta of publishing false content on July 24, 2025. The lawsuit alleges that the post falsely claimed that several officials of the APC from Gombi had left the party.

This legal action comes shortly after Senator Ahmed, popularly known as Binani, defected from the APC to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
The 13 APC officials, who are the complainants in the suit, stated that the publication was untrue and had damaged their reputation. They highlighted a particularly serious claim that the post even listed the name of a deceased party member, Ishiya Jannatu, among those who had allegedly left.
According to the officials, the false claims caused significant internal confusion within the party, with some leaders calling for their suspension or outright removal.
The officials also stated in their sworn complaint that they had made several attempts to get Jimeta to retract the post and provide an explanation, but he allegedly refused to do so, leading them to seek legal redress.
