Eko Hot Blog reports that Osohua made the comment during an appearance on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily, where he likened the event to a Christmas carol and insisted that it did not meet the requirements of a lawful convention.

The Ibadan gathering, held between November 15 and 16, had produced a list of expulsions backed by Governor Seyi Makinde, targeting key figures including Nyesom Wike, Ayo Fayose, and Samuel Anyanwu over alleged anti-party activities.
The move has deepened existing cracks within the PDP, prompting debate after the expelled members received what was described as a “certificate of expulsion.”

Osohua argued that such a document had no legal basis, questioning where the party derived the authority to issue it. He noted that if no certificate was issued upon joining the party, none should exist upon removal.
He maintained that the entire process appeared to be rooted in personal interests rather than due process, insisting that the party’s internal structures must be guided by legality and fairness.
