EKO HOT BLOG reports that the enforcement was carried out on Monday by the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), led by General Manager Olalekan Bakare-Oki, in collaboration with the Rescue and Compliance Unit.
According to Bakare-Oki, the closure followed several warnings and failed attempts to get the club’s management to address recurring violations that have caused traffic congestion and endangered road users.
“The state’s Transport Sector Reform Law clearly prohibits any act that obstructs public highways or endangers the safety of commuters,” Bakare-Oki said.
“Vaniti Club House consistently ignored our warnings and refused to comply with basic regulations. This action was necessary to restore sanity and protect public safety.”
He described the infractions as a “repeated and intentional breach” of traffic laws and warned that similar establishments across the state would face strict sanctions if found guilty of similar offences.
“This is not an isolated case. Our teams will ramp up surveillance and enforcement activities at lounges, event centres, and clubs across the state,” he added.

Bakare-Oki noted that many hospitality outlets in Lagos have unlawfully converted public roads into private parking zones, worsening traffic congestion and posing safety risks to motorists and pedestrians.
In a separate statement, LASTMA’s Director of Public Affairs and Enlightenment, Adebayo Taofiq, confirmed that Vaniti Club House would remain sealed until its management fully complies with all traffic and public safety requirements.
The Lagos State Government reiterated its commitment to ensuring that businesses operate without obstructing traffic or compromising public safety.
