Fuji music icon Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as K1, has issued a public apology for an incident that happened at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport on August 5, 2025, involving ValueJet Airline.
According to Eko Hot Blog, K1 called the event “unfortunate” and clarified that the flask he was carrying contained only water, not alcohol as had been wrongly reported.
He explained that because he suffers from chronic dehydration, he must always stay hydrated, which is why he carries a water flask.

K1 stated he had gone through two security screenings with an empty flask and only filled it with water at the lounge before going to the plane. He insisted that he was never deboarded from the flight.
The singer expressed his regret for any concern the incident caused, stating it was not his intention to cause any disruption or violate airport rules.
He offered a heartfelt and unreserved apology to the Presidency, the Ministry of Aviation, FAAN, NCAA, ValueJet, his fellow Nigerians, and his fans worldwide.
K1 also affirmed his patriotism and commitment to being a global ambassador for Nigerian music and culture.
