The Kano State Hisbah Board has detained a man named Taufiq in the Sabuwar Gandu area on allegations of practicing witchcraft.
Eko Hot Blog reports that Deputy Commander of the Board, Sheikh Mujahid Aminudden, confirmed the arrest in a statement to journalists on Friday.

According to Sheikh Mujahid, the arrest came after several complaints from local residents, which led Hisbah officials to investigate Taufiq’s activities.

He explained that the residents were disturbed by the alleged practice and reported it to the authorities.
“After completing our investigation, Hisbah operatives moved in and arrested the suspect,” Mujahid Aminudden said.
The statement added that Taufiq will be taken to court for allegedly engaging in witchcraft, an act prohibited by law in Kano State.
