According to police sources, the victim had boarded what appeared to be a regular commercial vehicle heading toward the Central Area of Abuja. Midway through the trip, he was violently attacked.
“The driver and another passenger pulled a knife on me, took ₦80,000 cash, two mobile phones, and other belongings,” the victim reported.
After the initial robbery, the suspects reportedly forced the victim to hand over his ATM card and PIN, which they used to withdraw ₦2.7 million from his account through **multiple POS agents** across the city.
Responding to the complaint, police launched a coordinated operation that led to the arrest of the suspects, who have since confessed to the crime.
All three are currently in custody and are undergoing further interrogation as authorities work to recover the stolen property and apprehend other members of the gang who are still at large.

The FCT Police Command has assured Abuja residents that it has intensified surveillance and patrols across the capital to curb the rising menace of one-chance robbery gangs and other criminal syndicates preying on commuters.
Residents have also been urged to remain vigilant when using public transportation and to report suspicious activity immediately.
