The Presidency has refuted a report by the International Centre for Investigative Reporting (ICIR) claiming that President Bola Tinubu is currently ill and in critical condition.
Eko Hot Blog reports that in its recent publication, the ICIR alleged that the president’s medical team was making arrangements to fly him abroad for urgent treatment. Citing sources from Aso Rock, the report claimed that Tinubu had been bedridden for several days, which led to his absence from important state functions.

The publication also stated that all of the president’s scheduled engagements, including the Federal Executive Council meeting, had been cancelled since the start of the week.
However, presidential media aide Bayo Onanuga, in a statement to Daily Trust on Sunday night, dismissed the rumours about the president’s health.

When asked why the president had not attended any public events since last week, Onanuga explained that the president could choose to work from home.
“There is nothing wrong with the president, he is okay. He can choose to work from home. He can choose to work from anywhere. I tell you nothing is wrong with the president,” the presidential spokesman said.
