This information was shared by US Vice President J.D. Vance, who noted that a key obstacle has been overcome.
According to Vance, President Trump has successfully persuaded President Putin, who had previously refused to meet with Zelensky. The administration is now focused on the logistics of scheduling the trilateral summit.

Vance emphasized that the goal is to find a negotiated settlement that both Ukraine and Russia can live with, though he cautioned that the final deal is unlikely to be one that fully satisfies either side.

The possibility of a US-Russia summit without Zelensky’s presence had raised concerns among European allies, who feared it could result in Ukraine being pressured to give up territory.
However, U.S. Ambassador to NATO Matthew Whitaker has confirmed that Zelensky’s attendance is a strong possibility, stressing that any agreement would require the consent of all parties involved. Whitaker noted that the final decision on the invitation rests with President Trump.
