A horrific incident has sent shockwaves through the Sepeteri community in Oyo State, where a 43-year-old man, Lateef Suleiman, allegedly murdered his biological brother over a nightmare.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the suspect, a resident of Alegunlode Compound, reportedly woke up on Monday morning convinced that his elder brother, 52-year-old Mustapha Amidu, had attacked and shot him in a dream.

According to a statement released on Tuesday by the Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka, the suspect did not dismiss the dream as a mere figment of his imagination.
Instead, Suleiman allegedly approached his brother while he was seated, picked up a heavy rock, and smashed it against the victim’s head. After the brutal attack, the suspect fled the scene, leaving his brother in a pool of blood.
Mustapha Amidu was immediately rushed to Ileri Oluwa Hospital in Sepeteri by concerned witnesses.
However, the injuries proved fatal, and he was confirmed dead by the medical doctor on duty shortly after arrival.
Operatives from the Ago-Amodu Divisional Headquarters responded to the report, visiting both the scene of the crime and the hospital to initiate preliminary investigative procedures.
Following a quick manhunt, police successfully tracked down and arrested Lateef Suleiman.

The command revealed that the suspect has since confessed to the crime and is currently cooperating with investigators.
The Oyo State Commissioner of Police, CP Femi Haruna, has ordered the immediate transfer of the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for a more discreet and thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the killing.
The Police Command has assured the public that the matter will be pursued with the utmost diligence to ensure that justice is served in accordance with the law.
