According to report, Kwam 1 was accused by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) of bringing alcohol on board, which is against regulations for Nigerian domestic flights. The incident reportedly led to a confrontation with a flight attendant.

In his plea, MC Oluomo described Kwam 1 as a “prodigal son” who is genuinely sorry for his actions. He urged the authorities to be compassionate, highlighting the musician’s five decades of contributions to Nigerian culture.
On behalf of Kwam 1, MC Oluomo offered a sincere apology to the CEO of ValueJet, Mr. Kunle Soname, and the general public. He also requested that the ban be lifted for the pilot, Oluranti Ogoyi, who was also involved in the incident.
