The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has reiterated its commitment to a non-partisan approach in carrying out its anti-corruption duties, dismissing recent accusations of political bias as unfounded.
In a statement issued on Tuesday closely monitored by Eko Hot Blog, the commission emphasized that it has conducted its investigations and prosecutions with impartiality and professionalism, regardless of the political affiliations of the individuals involved.

The EFCC assured the public that the law applies equally to all, whether suspects are from the ruling party or opposition groups, and that there are no “sacred cows” in its fight against corruption.
The commission described an attack by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as an unexpected and unjustified attempt to discredit its work.

According to the EFCC, the ADC’s allegations of politically motivated summons are baseless and contradict the commission’s record of fairness.
The EFCC stated, “The ADC’s attack on the commission over its handling of cases involving politically exposed persons from various political backgrounds is surprising and unfair.
Observers who have followed the commission’s activities will agree that the EFCC has always been careful and neutral in its operations.”
The commission reaffirmed that all ongoing investigations are driven solely by evidence and legal procedures, warning that attempts to politicize its work undermine the collective fight against financial crimes.
