Fuji musician Wasiu Ayinde Marshall, popularly known as KWAM 1, is to be engaged as an ambassador for proper airport security practices, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, announced on Wednesday.
Eko Hot Blog reports that Keyamo said the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority has reduced KWAM 1’s flight ban to one month and will withdraw criminal charges earlier filed against him.

Similarly, ValueJet pilots Captain Oluranti Ogoyi and First Officer Ivan Oloba will have their licences restored after serving a one-month suspension and completing a mandatory professional reappraisal.

The minister also directed all relevant aviation agencies to hold a retreat next week to retrain security personnel on managing disruptive passengers and defusing tense situations, with full media coverage.
He stressed that although the clemency decisions were made on compassionate grounds, the government remains committed to strictly enforcing safety and security regulations in the aviation sector.
