Man arrested in Imo State for allegedly killing his father over a land sale disagreement.

The Imo State Police Command has taken into custody a 39-year-old man, identified as Ifeanyi Odinka, over the alleged killing of his father, Mr. Dennis Odinka, during a heated disagreement concerning the sharing of proceeds from a land transaction in Orlu.
According to reports reaching Eko Hot Blog, the incident reportedly occurred in Amaifeke, a community in Orlu Local Government Area of Imo State, where the suspect resides with his family.

The dispute, according to police findings, escalated into a violent confrontation, leading to the tragic death of the 75-year-old man.
Confirming the arrest, the spokesperson for the Imo State Police Command, Henry Okoye, stated that officers attached to the Orlu Division apprehended the suspect on August 12, 2025.

“In the course of preliminary interrogation, the suspect admitted to the crime. He is currently in custody and has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Owerri for further inquiry and prosecution,” Okoye said.
