Florida’s federal court sentenced singer Sean Kingston (real name Kisean Anderson) to 42 months in prison on August 15, 2025, following his conviction for wire fraud and conspiracy to commit wire fraud . He’ll also serve three years of supervised release afterward.

The sentence reflects Kingston’s involvement in a wire fraud operation that targeted businesses jewelers, car dealers, bedding suppliers, and an electronics company by acquiring over $1 million worth of high-end items via fake bank transfer receipts. Items reportedly included a bulletproof Cadillac Escalade, luxury watches, and a 19‑foot LED television
Kingston pleaded not to testify during the trial but did express remorse in court, stating he’d learned from his actions . His request for home confinement was denied by the judge, who ordered his immediate custody.
His mother, Janice Turner, was convicted alongside him and previously sentenced in July to five years in prison, followed by three years of supervised release. She had admitted to falsifying wire receipts and claimed it was to protect her son from scammers.
The fraud scheme spanned from April 2023 to March 2024. Authorities say Kingston used his social media influence to lure sellers with promises of exposure, only to deceive them with counterfeit payment documents.
