Represented by Mr. Dipo Odebowale, Head of NIDCOM’s Lagos Office, she stressed that the real strength lies in diaspora investment, knowledge transfer, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
She stated: “Imagine channelling diaspora capital into agro processing plants, tech hubs, manufacturing clusters, logistics, and export driven enterprises right here in Ota. This is not only possible but also necessary for Nigeria’s next phase of industrialisation.”
According to her, the summit aligns with NIDCOM’s continuous efforts to encourage Nigerians abroad to invest in the country and contribute to national development.
She added that the Nigerian diaspora is not just a community abroad but an economic force, noting that remittances alone contribute over $20 billion annually, nearly six percent of Nigeria’s GDP.

In his remarks, the Olota of Ota, Adeyemi Obalanlege, praised Dabiri Erewa for her consistent commitment to the welfare and engagement of Nigerians in the diaspora.
He commended NIDCOM’s record in safeguarding diaspora interests and assured that the people of Ota would continue to mobilise efforts to sustain the city’s position as a key industrial hub for Nigeria’s economy.
