According to NEMA’s Lagos Operations Head, Mohammed Olatunde, the group arrived around 8:27 p.m. aboard an Al Buraq Airlines flight. He explained that the return was part of a humanitarian initiative supported by the Federal Government and IOM.

Among the returnees were 29 children; 13 boys and 16 girls as well as 27 infants, highlighting the vulnerability of many of those involved.
Upon arrival, officials of the Nigeria Immigration Service carried out biometric registration and documentation to ensure proper identification and support their reintegration.
The returnees were also given immediate assistance, including food, clean water, medical care, and counselling services. Additional support such as luggage handling and logistics coordination was provided to ensure a smooth and dignified reception process.
Authorities say the effort is part of ongoing measures to assist Nigerians stranded abroad and help them safely reintegrate into society.
