Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, a former chairman of the Senate Committee on the Niger Delta, has revealed that he advised Senator Ovie Omo-Agege against seeking the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket for the 2027 governorship race in Delta State.
According to Eko Hot Blog, Omo-Agege, who was the APC’s candidate in the 2023 election, would be contesting against the incumbent, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, who now holds a top leadership position in the state APC.

In an exclusive interview, Nwaoboshi said he does not believe that Omo-Agege will challenge Governor Oborevwori for the party’s ticket unless his mind has changed since their discussion. He disclosed that a former state governor was present during their conversation.
Nwaoboshi also said that he has spoken with Governor Oborevwori, the state’s new APC leader, and appealed to him to work harmoniously with Omo-Agege and other party members. His efforts aim to foster unity within the party ahead of the next election cycle.
