The family of the late Deaconess Elizabeth Beckley (Nee Johnson) has officially announced the details of her burial rites, as they prepare to bid a final farewell to a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and matriarch.
Deaconess Beckley, a devoted Christian and respected community member, passed away recently, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of faith, love, and service.

In an interview with EkoHotBlog, Ms. Toun Beckley spoke with deep sorrow about the passing of her beloved mother, Deaconess Elizabeth Beckley.
She described the immense void her mother’s death had created in their lives, emphasizing that the family would never be the same without her warmth, wisdom, and guidance.
Reflecting on her mother’s legacy, Ms. Beckley recalled the many ways her mother shaped their lives through her unwavering love, strength, and resilience.
She described her as a pillar of support who always put her family first. “She was our rock,” Ms. Beckley said. “She always stood by us through every challenge, offering love, encouragement, and wisdom. Even though she is no longer physically with us, her love and teachings will continue to guide us through this painful time.”
Ms. Beckley also shared some of her fondest memories, remembering how her mother’s kindness and faith touched not just their family but everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
She expressed gratitude for the time they had together and prayed for the strength to carry on her mother’s legacy of love and service.
In honour of her life and contributions, a Service of Songs will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 5 PM at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in Houston, Texas, USA. Friends, family, and well-wishers in the United States are invited to gather in celebration of her impactful life.
The funeral rites will then continue in Nigeria, where another Service of Songs is scheduled for Thursday, February 27, 2025, at 4:30 PM at the Methodist Church Arometa, Eleyele, Ibadan.

This solemn gathering will allow loved ones to reflect on her life, faith, and the remarkable legacy she leaves behind.
On Friday, February 28, 2025, the Funeral Service will take place at the Methodist Church Arometa, Eleyele, Ibadan, beginning at 10 AM. This will be followed by the interment at Sango Cemetery, Ibadan, where she will be laid to rest in the presence of family, friends, and well-wishers.
After the burial, a reception will be held at 1 PM at Arinze Garden, Staga Bus Stop, opposite Saint Rita Catholic Church, Sango-Eleyele, Ibadan. The gathering will serve as a moment for family, friends, and sympathizers to share fond memories, offer prayers, and celebrate the impactful life she lived.
Deaconess Elizabeth Beckley is survived by her children, grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces, daughter-in-law, and son-in-law, who will continue to uphold her values of faith, kindness, and generosity
