Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State recently met to review the outcome of a recent House of Representatives by-election and to strategize for the 2027 general elections.
Leaders, including Chief Sunday Dare, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communications, and Chief Akin Onigbinde, SAN, expressed optimism about the party’s future.

The leaders saw the by-election as a “litmus test” of the party’s strength and are now actively working to rebuild the APC as a formidable opposition to the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.
Sunday Dare, a former Sports Minister, called the by-election result a “wake-up call” and confirmed that the party is realigning its structures to ensure everyone is united for 2027.

Chief Wale Ohu, an APC Peace Advocate, emphasized that peace and reconciliation are crucial for the party’s success. He stated that disunity is not an option and that the APC must remain united to achieve better results in future elections.
The leaders also discussed broader plans to strengthen the party across all zones within the state.
