EKO HOT BLOG reports that his resignation was conveyed in a letter addressed to the SDP chairman of Tudun Kofa Ward in Keffi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State. In the letter, Wadada described the decision as a difficult but necessary step due to the party’s lingering crisis.
“I am writing to inform you of my decision to resign as a member of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), effective immediately. This decision has not been taken lightly, but I feel compelled to do so due to the lingering internal crisis that has plagued our party for some time,” he stated.
The senator lamented that persistent conflicts had worsened into litigations and deep divisions, making it impossible for the party to move forward. He thanked the SDP for the opportunities and relationships he enjoyed during his membership but maintained that it was time to move on.
Although Wadada did not disclose his next political move, his resignation has sparked speculations over whether he may align with another party ahead of future elections.
It would be recalled that on August 13, while addressing State House correspondents after a meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the lawmaker praised the president’s performance, insisting that no presidential hopeful on the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition platform could match Tinubu’s record in office.

Wadada’s exit marks another major development in the SDP, which has faced increasing internal wrangling in recent months.
