EKO HOT BLOG reports that in a petition personally signed and made public through his lawyer, Umesi, on Sunday, Kanu named Justices Binta Nyako, Haruna Tsammani, and Garba Lawal as those allegedly responsible for what he described as a miscarriage of justice.
Kanu, who has been in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) since his controversial rendition from Kenya in June 2021, alleged that the judges committed “a catalogue of infractions” in handling his case. He insisted that their conduct “now stands as an unerasable blot on Nigeria’s legal conscience.”
The IPOB leader urged the NBA, which is currently holding its annual meeting in Enugu, to investigate the matter and impose sanctions on the judges involved. He also called on the association to publish a formal report condemning what he termed the misuse of civil procedures to override criminal law and the “resurrection of repealed statutes” in his trial.
Kanu further demanded that the NBA reaffirm that no Nigerian should ever again be detained through abduction or subjected to trial under a repealed law. According to him, holding “erring judges accountable” is necessary to restore public confidence in the nation’s legal system.

The petition comes amid renewed debates over his prolonged detention and legal battles, which continue to draw both local and international attention.
