A cleaner in Maiduguri, Borno State, has returned ₦4.8 million that was mistakenly deposited into her bank account, Eko Hot Blog can report.
The woman, Faiza Abdulkadir, who earns only ₦30,000 a month working at a health centre, told journalists that her decision was guided by the fear of God.

“The money was not mine. I wanted peace of mind and to avoid God’s punishment on the Day of Judgement,” she explained.
Faiza revealed that it took three days to complete the bank’s processes before the money was finally returned to its rightful owner. “I could not rest or eat properly during those days until I returned it,” she added.
Neighbours and bank officials commended her honesty, describing her as a disciplined woman who lives modestly while raising five children.

One bank staff noted that, unlike others who had previously misused such funds and created problems for the institution, Faiza chose integrity. “Despite her situation, she did the right thing. It shows her strong values,” he said.
Her action has since been widely celebrated in Maiduguri as a rare display of honesty and integrity.
