Eko Hot Blog reports that the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. (Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, on Tuesday, led the Market Monitoring and Regulation Committee in a major enforcement exercise along the Lekki–Epe Expressway.

He was joined by the Vice Chairman, Hon. Isiaka Yusuf Olatunji, as well as other top government officials.
The operation targeted traders illegally occupying road setbacks and obstructing the free flow of traffic along the busy corridor.
Speaking during the exercise, Hon. Olowa said, “Our administration is committed to safeguarding lives, ensuring road safety, and restoring orderliness to public spaces.”
While stressing the importance of commerce to the community, he added, “Trading activities must remain within designated markets that guarantee safety and convenience for both economic operators and the public.
” He urged traders to relocate into government-approved markets, warning that continued violations would attract stricter penalties.
The enforcement covered several communities including Lakowe, Adeba, Ogunfayo, Awoyaya, Oribanwa, and Gbetu, where traders had encroached on setbacks and created hazards for motorists and pedestrians.
