The Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government, Hon. Princess Surah O. Animashaun, has joined the global community in celebrating International Women’s Day (IWD) 2025, reaffirming her administration’s commitment to women’s rights, gender equality, and empowerment.
Ekohotblog reports that in a statement marking the occasion, Hon. Animashaun emphasized the importance of this year’s theme, “All Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment.” She highlighted the significant contributions of women in society and pledged continued support for initiatives that uplift and empower them.

“Women’s rights are human rights, and we remain dedicated to ensuring that all women and girls in our community have access to equal opportunities, resources, and services,” she stated.
The Chairman commended women who have shattered barriers in various fields, while also recognizing the unsung heroines who contribute tirelessly behind the scenes to their families, communities, and the development of society.
“We honor the trailblazers who have paved the way for future generations, as well as the women who work selflessly to nurture families and uplift communities. Every woman deserves recognition, respect, and opportunities to thrive,” she added.
Highlighting her administration’s efforts in fostering gender equality, Hon. Animashaun noted key initiatives aimed at boosting women’s economic independence, enhancing access to education and healthcare, and encouraging female participation in politics and leadership roles.
