The Arewa Think Tank (ATT) has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for reaffirming his confidence in Vice President Kashim Shettima, describing it as a decisive move that puts to rest speculations about a possible rift ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Eko Hot Blog reports that Tinubu, in a goodwill message to mark Shettima’s 59th birthday, had praised the Vice President for his loyalty and competence.

“I deeply appreciate your vibrancy, loyalty, partnership, and support as my deputy. In choosing you then as a partner, I selected competence and other qualities that Nigeria could depend on,” the President stated.
Convener of ATT, Muhammad Alhaji Yakubu, said Tinubu’s words had effectively silenced those nursing ambitions of replacing Shettima. “From all indications, Tinubu has set the record straight that he has no problem with his Vice President, contrary to the rumours that he was going to drop and replace him,” Yakubu noted.
In a related development, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC), Jennifer Adighije, joined other Nigerians in celebrating the Vice President’s birthday.
She described Shettima as a “quintessential leader” whose vision and guidance have been instrumental in positioning NDPHC as a key player in Nigeria’s power sector transformation.
“Under your visionary leadership, we have enjoyed unmatched support and guidance, enabling NDPHC to remain a leading contributor to Nigeria’s power sector transformation,” Adighije said in her message.
She reaffirmed NDPHC’s commitment to supporting the Tinubu administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda by expanding access to reliable power supply to boost economic growth and national development.
Adighije further lauded Shettima’s commitment to infrastructure development, economic growth, and national unity, stressing that his leadership continues to inspire hope for a more prosperous Nigeria.
